I set a man on fire today.
He didn't scream.
He didn't run
flailing his arms.
He didn't make a scene,
at all.
Just stood there.
Burning.
Hands tucked into his pockets
Eyes closed
Head bowed
Motionless.
Emotionless.
Burning.
Bits of blackened clothing
Kicked around the grass,
By autistic wind.
Flames malevolently
Tongue lashing
Concrete flesh.
Burning.
My empty pail
Full of fumes
Swings robotically
Sings melodically
A smile pours across this mug
And I begin laughing.
Deep inside
My rage is
Burning.
