The Seventh Circle
I must be an Israelite:
...years,
upon years,
upon years,
upon years...
enslaved,
commanded,
forced,
homeless,
a child servant,
malnourished,
stunted,
deprived,
threatened,
hurting,
fearful,
frightened,
terrorized,
controlled...
tenderized,
by years,
that should have been tender...
...and then,
the nomadic wilderness years...
a wild mix of plenty and want,
arrogance and chagrin,
maternal warmth and maternal coolness,
paternal fire and paternal ice,
the Don Quixote years...
a searching,
a listening,
a developing of relationship,
of trust,
of knowledge,
understanding,
beauty,
and Love...
Now,
today,
a Jericho lies before me,
a walled city,
some would say a mighty walled city...
some would describe it as
simply another temporary resting place,
another tomorrow,
aother purpose...
...the walls are immaterial;
it is a will that places me here,
it shall be a will which places me there...
Today ends the seventh circle.
...with fresh enthusiasm,
I invite you,
I want you to come with me,
it would seem peculiar without you...
you can come with me,
or,
you can stay here,
where a will has brought you...
your destiny is your destiny,
mine is mine,
but,
with you by my side,
or with you in my heart only,
I am entering Jericho,
not to destroy,
but,
to Love...
to Live and Love as was intended.
