The laws of probability suggest that with the impending change of season, you will be gone.
like the sun, you serve oh so many, but are appreciated by only a few.
Although your core is rapidly shrinking, the purpose you serve is constantly expanding.
There are a select few who worship you, as if in the midst of your fury there are answers to be learnt and secrets to be kept.
Despite the chaos that explodes around you, your existence provides a steady force of gravity for those who need it most.
And like the earth, when the moon arises and the dark of night sets in, the only piece i have of you is a reflection 300,000 miles from me and i miss you.

Interesting first poem, cliff.
It definitely fits the abstract category and style has been thrown out.
I liked the concepts you convey here, too - the shared dependence on someone who is out of reach.
Thanks for sharing, cliff, and I am interested to read more of your work.
