Anywhere But Here, Anywhere But There

Contributed by spike on Sunday, 29th January 2006 @ 05:51:24 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Not the place you want to be,
This place
Not in the place you dream,
That space
The yearning draws such deep despair
But there’s no map to guide us there

Not this face you have,
Your face
Not the face you want,
Such grace
The many masks we wear like clothes
Still near at hand, even in repose

Not how you want to feel,
This pain
The way you want to feel,
Sanguine
The senses, like humming strings
Hold the lie of many things

Not in the words you speak,
That confound
Not the words you seek,
To astound
The voice an urging of the soul
To release the heart’s clarion call.

I really, really like this write. I liked the rhyming scheme and the structure, and most of all the pure emotion. Nice work. Thank you for sharing!

My dear friend I bow to ur excellence. You have written how I feel inside. An amazing poet who has such a flare with a pen. An outstanding and well delivered piece of poetry filled with pure emotions. Well worth the read. Well done Spike.

How I do love those two lines spike ... they reflect such a taxing disposition [at least
they do to me]. I love the style you chose for this write. And don't even get me started on
the essence ... if only, indeed!

kudos, spike, as always

OKAY! I'm gettin' messages that DEMAND I meet my deadlines. They just don't know! I'm using you as my excuse. It'll work 'cause I'm referring them to this site, and your postings. Ditto to all the accolades.
