Despite my anger

And my stone cold soul
Does not testify the truth
And though I am reluctant to admit
I imagine that there is something beautiful
I cannot deny the beauty
Of gentleness and kindness
I cannot deny the beauty
Of generosity and worship
I cannot deny the beauty
Of complexity and simplicity
I cannot deny the beauty
Of creation
I cannot accept the beauty
Of destruction
I cannot accept the beauty
Of stone cold hands and rotting bodies
I cannot accept the beauty
Of steel and thorns
I cannot accept the beauty
Of steel and thorns being jabbed into my saviour’s body
And yet,
There is beauty in God’s plan
Despite my anger
There must be beauty in steel and thorns.

An intriguing and different way of looking at things ... but after reading a few times definitely I like this poem... Jan |
