Born to die

Contributed by merge on Monday, 27th January 2003 @ 07:20:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Cold shivers and a vial of liquid,
An empty corpse lying in a tomb,
Shallow and lifeless
Is what I imagine
I too turn towards dust
At the ripe age of 23
Somehow there’s much left to be done
Is symbolizes the truth
That all too soon
I will become lichen’s cousin
I fear the truth
My demise quickly approaches
I slowly haste to run
I know that I am succumbing to this disease
Which rots me away from the inside
Deterorating my physical
One sense at a time
One neuron at a time
I see spots of red
Oozing out over the dashboard
And fear life itself
The reality is that everyone was born to die
The truth is closing in
What once made sense no longer does
This yeast that rots at my core is my demise.
