My Angel

Contributed by Candice on Thursday, 26th January 2006 @ 11:08:27 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

The lord sent a spy
To heal my broken hart
He had a lazy eye
A hinder to his art

It took him years to find me
For years I lived in pain
He searched the wide world over
And always failed in vane

This saint was on a mission
He never failed a case
For he was on commission
And needed one more ace

The man is a perfectionist
Despite his handicap
I was mistaken for a receptionist
But ounce he had a map

He tracked me down
He took my frown
He turned it round
And upside down

And just as quick as he appeared
His duty made him leave me here
He was promoted from a spy
To an angel in the sky

Although I miss him every day
He is around in his own way
He leaves a woman
Who has evolved
A beautiful angel made her whole.

I really enjoy the tone of peace that flows through this poem. Sadness...but peace. Well done.
