Don't Cry For Me

Contributed by Vermilion on Thursday, 26th January 2006 @ 09:55:48 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A hunger filled plea
I walk with the dead
As time sprints by
She takes me, instead

A wonder of grace
Tainted and lay
Sickle sweet remorse
Of corpse still today

Don’t cry for me
I have cried enough
To walk with my sweet
In Hell with the rough

A silent scream
Torture of the mind
And somewhere in here
Is truth not to find

But lay your head
And sleep for the now
Stop asking why
And start asking how

Did She forsake us?
Did She let me go?
Dwell not on the answers
But of what you know

For somewhere deep
Six foot under ground
Is the morbid truth
Waiting to be found

So don’t take my hand
Don’t follow me low
One magpie a sorrow
That sways to and fro

The wind in my eyes
The taste on my tongue
The song of bitter sweetness
That we have once sung…

But the song has ended
Last chords have died out
Filled in with silence
With darkness and doubt…

Don’t cry for me.

excellent poem, my best guess its about the frailty of women and the void they leave behind. Loved the imagery and bleakness
