Eyes blind. Searching in eternal darkness for the warmth of the one you love, but somehow, they’ve vanished into time.
No hand to guide you home. No voice to chase away all the demons of your mind. Nothing but darkness. Blind to where you fall; blind to where you stand.
Wishing for someone’s arms around your waist to keep you safe; Wishing for someone’s love, but only cold darkness.
Dark memories and knowledge that you’ll never see this world again. Hate. Hate for the God who cursed you. Sadness. Sadness that you feel that way to begin with.
The days won’t go fast enough. The nights are sleepless and frightening. No one there to hold you.
Alone to carry this heavy burden, which cost you your sight. There’s no one to help you search for the light.
And when all hope fails you. And when you think it’s time to give up, there’s their voice in your ears. They have an arm around you and a hand pulling a knife from your hands.
Tears stream from your unseeing eyes and you hold out your arms to grasp them, but they have vanished into time. Tears stream down your cheeks and you have no strength to lift the knife again.
You’ve got nothing but the darkness now.
Nothing but that darkness….
Then a flicker of light, like a candle in your eyes. Light is pouring in, burning away the darkness and before you stands a great silver wolf. His mood-stone eyes are that of your only love.
He stands proud, but vanishing into time.
You yell for him to come back, you reach out to take him back, but now he is only the refraction of light on the carpet.
You can see, but what’s life worth living now that the only thing you’ve ever loved has vanished into time? But you don’t take that knife back up. You stand and walk away to enjoy the light. They took that knife from your hands once. They gave you a reason to keep living on
