selfstruggles

Give me some serenity, baby
because...
tranquil moments
they seem so few.
Time evaporating
like morning sun
on the grassy,
gossamer dew.
I am so frightened
that anyday,
some how...
some way...
I may be one step closer
to a white padded room.
One without a view.
Only shadows to taunt me.
Wicked thoughts
to haunt me.
Things are starting
to spin quickly
out of control.
Lost soul.
Hot and cold clashes.
I'm caught in a
tornadic flow.
The mind, I fear
is deteriorating
at an accelerated rate.
Looking in the mirror,
the terror I see is
easily reflected on my
weathered face.
I know I should love myself.
(I really do)
But I feel so disappointed
in myself.
Aren't you?
I feel this...
cancerous hate spawns the anger
we both know.
Makes words spill like venom
from these cyanotic lips.
A psycho freaking trip, folks
Right here, once again
Who've I become" Or...
Who have I been all along?
I don't know anymore.
I'm struggling to hold
my head up high.
Trying to figure out
what went wrong
and why?

god...you put into words...something that I feel often. wow! :)
very good, i couldn't in a million years express that sort of sadness and confusion so well!
Thanks for the read :)
Don't worry, the despair will pass...as everything else does.
Take care

Oh Laura I can so much relate to ur write. Like my dear friend Emy, I too take medication and have been for the last 5 years. Chin up sweet lady and may you have much brighter days ahead of you.
A very well detailed piece of poetry filled with the true feelings of what one faces in the wake of depression.
*warm heartfelt hugs to you sweet lady*

Man oh man, do you ever live in my dimension.I could have written this myself. Don't worry, laura: Thoughts like this are the milk of the thing that haunts you. I know this because it is my ghost also. Its not going to happen.you have my word on this.
Black.

Tremendous !
Your poem has touched many of us--arn't we all self doubters and the first to put ourselves down.
Not to worry you are quite normal.
Your choie of words is fantastic. Good discriptions.

Excellent flow
deep Innervisions of torment
and emotional torture
mark this flow....
it's so beautiful. |

"The mind, I fear
is deteriorating
at an accelerated rate."
I can hear a twenty minute Garcia guitar solo here before the next:
"Looking in the mirror,
the terror I see is
easily reflected on my
weathered face."
and this is sung in chours with Hart & Weir
Right about now the 'cid fully kicks in and strangely I am strong against anything ever "going wrong" The jazz of the band gets me out of that loop and I jam...
Thanx for the jam I whisper with a lisp.
Peace
