Smug

Topic: AmericanTragedy

Take a look at yourself
On your throne, on the hill.

How are you like the God
That the Roman boys killed?

What’s your story,
High and Mighty?
Humble thyself.
Come and fight me.

Kick my head,
Make me scream
Or rescind the
Rights you claim.

What’s your story,
High and Mighty?
Men of honor
Sometimes bleed.

Take a look at yourself,
Prick your hands, and they bleed.

Mine are as calloused as
The heart that you keep. Key.

Where’s your power,
High and Mighty?
Keep on barking,
And I’ll come.

What’s the story,
High and Mighty?
The coup of grace
Is yet to come.

Where’s your glory,
High and Mighty?
Step on up
And get you some.

There will come a day
When the kings will go away
And corrupt children will die
And their parents suffer twice
And the empire collapse
Like a mongrel on the crack
And the just will reign supreme.
Back to water! Back to trees!
And the sun will rule the land
And my mom will hold my hand
And it will all just be okay.
Listen NOW to what I say!!!
I’m getting desperate here.
Stupididdle nummy ears!
Anheim glowin’ goin’ zane!
Anheim fugduckkin’ a bane!
Anmye Cother’s owe mushain.
Omye Cother’s owe mush pane.
Anthem keen’s gauze soma’s bane.
Issageenzu gaza pain…

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
