Of Gods and Goddesses
Hope:
the pristine saint of those who believe they have not...
Belief:
the knighted warrior of the many who think they know not...
Dream:
the poetess of those unable to find contentedness...
Expectation:
the master of the mathematics of usury...
Faith:
the godfather of those without knowledge...
Trust:
the maternal spirit of all living in the poverty of Self-doubt...
War:
the paternal spirit of all living in the poverty of Self-doubt...
Nation:
the father of Trust and War...
Religion:
man...
Hate:
the frightened child screaming in the night....
Fear:
the antagonist who would deny one's completeness...
Suspicion:
the shadow of one who fears...
Doubt:
the mistress of pretty,
and handsome's black hooded hangman...
Happy:
the gentle daughter of innocence and ignorance...
Anger:
the ancient, blind, paraplegic god of fraud...
Greed:
the pitiable beast with five score eyes and but one anus...
Arrogance:
the fool assured of what he knows not...
Humility:
the countenance of one who suspects his own knowledge...
Simplicity:
the essence whose presence clothes the unpretentious in grandeur...
Patience:
the one who easily sees himself in the struggles of others...
Peace:
the finite at rest within the infinite...
Truth:
the eternal stone which defines impenetrable...
Wisdom:
that which makes the eternal stone soft and warm...
Beauty:
the melodic harmony of Truth and Wisdom...
Love:
the plasma of he who in all knowledge, accepts...
Joy:
the gift given to those who have found Love...

Now, I really commend you for this: It is excellent. Except, I would say: Hate - is the black scourge that destroys peace. On "happy" the scriptures say: "Increased knowledge, increaseth sorrow," -so, you're right there. I dis-agree on "faith" - It is hope for a thing not seen, -but, it can be based on much knowledge: The knowledge of fullfilled prophecy, Historical pronouncments, and the way they fit historical fact, The change this faith brings about, and what it produces,
The resistance it brings about, and from whom.... The veracity of the witnesses to that thing hoped for. The congruity of a text, written by many witnesses to the event. --Well' you know my argument, I'm sure. God bless |
