a homeless cry

Contributed by lostrelic on Thursday, 19th January 2006 @ 08:17:19 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

a reflection of moonlight on the shattered glass on the street
million of diamonds piercing my feet
trail covered red better then bread to help me find my way
searching for a spot to drop my lot and find a place to lay
my home is my backpack another vagrant in your view
just another homeless man really not that diffrent then you
i lost my way and cant get it back not with out a little hope
its not cash that i need its and i am not addicted to dope
just a hand and a place to stay even a meal a day
not throw me out in the cold to try to make my way
i could sell drugs or a life of crime but my soul is two far clean
what is it that you want except for being mean
as each day i walk my line spit and kicked all the way
this isnt a metaphor this is how they act each day
give somone a break or a cup of coffee its the least you can do
show them that you understand and that they are human to

Thank you, food, security, love and respect, is our comfort food from Him who takes care of us, and we need to help Him take care of all of His children, no matter, we are all human, whether we have riches, or not, spiritual food is given to us. What does God like, what we like, we do it for Him from our hearts, all good deeds for humankind. Raquel Leah

Reagan an outstanding write detailing the truths about homelessness. My heart cries for these people. Yes they are human too, just like us. Sadly they have no food to eat or no place to go. This is an emotional and very deep heartfelt write. Thanks for posting this write.
*warm hugs*

Wonderful write. It is sad we live in a country where actors and ball players get paid an exceptional amount of money and we have our on folks living out on the street. Babies hungry. It doesn't make any sense to me. Where is the fairness of it all? Thanks for addressing this subject that people so often ignore. Peace to you, Laura

Very well written poem. I enjoyed it a lot. My boyfriend had a very bad childhood and was homeless for a while when he was a child. This poem almost brings me to tears because I think of him and what he and others are still going through.
