And Action

Topic: oops

Let me go out on a limb
Make a prediction
Mark my words
A prophet with a premonition

The locket holds the photograph
Words worth a thousand pictures
Birds and bees the naughtiest creatures
You will fall for me and become my teacher

Notice me, noticing you
You have been put on notice
I warned you, you know this
I forgive you,
For a lapse in cognition
For a moment of uncertainty in such hostile conditions
A profile of accomplished secret missions
Had you been upfront, and honest, I wouldn’t be in this position
I wouldn’t need to find my religion, to spy on my children,
To rely on the charity of individuals who have seen this collision
A colossal edifice brought to its knees under the lights of the inquisition
A breathe is in need of oxygen
As fire feeds on air
Winds and water
Are defiled
Useless beyond compare
I hadn’t seen you sitting over there
All alone, fixing your hair
Who are you waiting for
And why isn’t he here

I have not been spoken to
Contacted, engaged
Outraged to the extent
Red with blushful cement

I misspoke, misquoted
Duly noted
A duel amongst supposed
Friends with common foes
Exposed to those who seek to cut off their toes
Who envision them without their clothes
Who fantasize of them dismembered and disrobed
Disillusioned, or misinformed, disenfranchised, or torn
Disqualified, optimized, placed on a pedestal
Detached, mismatched, the baby from its umbilical
Cords, chorus of words
Off course
Of course
Oven heat burns wood to defrost
A slab of meet
A meat and greet
A slap in the face, be bold, yet discrete
A secret unleashed, a fluid to secrete, odds to beat,
A promise to keep

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
