|
I long to roam freely about,
To laugh at nothing all day;
Or enjoy simple pleasures,
Keep life forever at bay.
But I cannot, will not,
For this life isn’t fair,
‘Cause the wanton use of life,
Is a desperate prayer.
It’s a plead, a ransom,
Putting your soul up for stakes,
Gaining nothing but vanity,
And a hollow life for you, it makes.
All of this happiness, pain,
It all leads to death,
So why put off something,
That’s as certain as breath?
For one needs to embrace both,
Mutually taking in account,
For what one does in life,
Is death’s final amount.
