Features Of Insomnia

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Tuesday, 17th January 2006 @ 11:32:24 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Ripped and broken,
Paper bones wrapped in plastic skin.
The elastic brain matter,
Folded and grotesque.
Absorbing everything,
Like a fat obese sponge.
Fingers reaching out thru shifting air.
Fighting gravity and density,
Whiping the spittle from these crakced lips.
Hollowed eyes and hollowed cheeks
The ghoulish haunting features of insomnia.
A whittled sillohuette,
Blotted out in the rain that came streaming down.
Screaming from the sky,
The rain tore thru the plastic
And soaked the fragile paper bone.
The heart of glass now rests alone,
Aglow with the sputtering flame of life.

Great write. As an ex-soldier I can appreciate your feelings. Boy was I glad when my two years of service were ended. bernard2

Very creative and compelling.
You haven't lost your gift for poetry.

Keep writing.
I hope your poetry moves beyond the muck that is this site and the kind of people who waste their lives on YPDC.

Are you freaking kidding me?? Your 'last poem sucked, hope this one is better, haven't written in awhile'. Next time don't feed your readers such malarkey and make us think you might let us down. Can I just say this is fantastic and I am wowed by your incredible talents once again!!!
