Starred Night

Contributed by geemunkey on Tuesday, 17th January 2006 @ 05:18:38 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

where did he come from,
this man who holds my gaze
hes not even half my shadow
but i havnt slept for days

staring at me nightly
from above the bathroom sink
but i know how to lose him
cant get into the bottom of a drink

when we went dancing
under ladders, over trees
you said the special three words
that brought me to my knees

i should have known
that it could never last
cos no one can love forever
not with my hazey past

and it didnt take long
'fore it all went pete tong
they were all so quick to
point out where i went wrong

and ive seen you dancing
under ladders and over trees
they are so quick to point out
the girl who brought me to my knees

by those special three words
you said under the moon
those special three words
you retracted so soon

cos you built me so tall
i had so far to fall
they were all so quick to point
when you didnt call

ive seen you go dancing
under ladders and over trees
and they all point at
the girl who brought me to my knees

and now you cant remember
when you felt any good at all
cos your the one they point at
the one who's called a fool

for i heard you went dancing
under ladders and over trees
and i said those special three words
that brought you to your knees

no one can hear you cry
til the day after its too late
all the time i was with you
you never believed in fate

well you better believe it
believe with all your might
since the sparkle in your eyes
disappeared outta sight
