Emotionless

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I wish I was emotionless.
I wish I couldn’t feel.
Then maybe love, to me,
wouldn’t be such a big deal.
I’d be able to go through life
without much worry in the world.
I wouldn’t have to wonder things
like I was a little girl.
I wouldn’t ever get broken
like a bottle smashed upon the table.
I’m not speaking physically,
just emotionally, I’d be unable.
I wouldn’t listen to sappy songs
yearning for Jack and Sally’s love.
I wouldn’t lay under the stars
wishing for answers from somewhere above.
I’d never know the feeling
of being so lonely that I cry.
I wouldn’t attempt suicide
because I have no one by my side.
The confusing art of love
and other painful feelings.
It would be so great
if I knew nothing of these things.

well i totally know how you feel as i often wished the very same thing at the worst of times. but in reality...these difficult feelings really do make us stronger...i hated it when ppl told me that when i was younger but i can see things more clearly now. i hope you are able to cope with your emotions and that your experiences help to mature you and provide you with the tools to deal with life in a better way. and trust me....numbness will eventually come and you will hate it cuz it makes you feel inhuman. stay strong, smile and embrace life as much as you can even when you hate it!!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
