always one extreme
or another
indifference unexceptable
in their crumbling Utopia
return with me to sodom
new eden vanquished
by sin and by flame
prophecy of the End
upon his head
return of failure
abundant in their house of god
resenting the christians
for whom he died
hatred for his father
he can no longer hide
temptations of the flesh
he is unable to resist
bereft of hope, he cries aloud
"Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"
and slits wide his wrists
but only tears flow from his wounds
tears he "supposedly" shed for us
mortification, the new act of repentance
accepted by few
Language of the Unformed
escaping the tongues
of those not chosen by He/She
both and yet neither
Using the Majik
and the drinking of blood
no longer a game
but a ritual of survival
sway to the beats of soundless drums
the bones of his cattle beaten on his tomb
the ancient ways of life return
with the Reign of Terror and the Rain of Blood
follow the Unformed and blessed ye shall be
open my eyes
return to sand
memories and pleasures forgotten
Disintegrate

Wow, I don't see how he thought you were accepting God in that poem...hahaha. That's funny. Anyway, I thought it was a well done poem...I have my faith but I am not going to hold anything to you or your poetry...I thought it was beautifully expressed. Thanks for sharing. Lots of love, *Fiona* |
