Spit or swallow

Contributed by Caged Soul on Monday, 16th January 2006 @ 02:25:08 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Which one are you?
A spitter or a swallower
Have you asked yourself
which one you are?
Two different personalities,
both set out with the same intentions
(or so it seems)
Common goal on common ground
Yet the end result’s unsimilarities
are so profuse

Both come with their good intentions,
they are willing to offer their help
so you can reach that social high

They know all the techniques,
all the different ways to take you there.
Masters at their game
there aint nobody better to make you fly.

And in due time you reach your climax,
you’re loins of personal success
experiences spasmatical blissfulness.
You are on top of the world, flying high
amongst ravens and doves
the eagles they envy you
cuz you now own their sky.

But high aint no fun on its own,
so you call on those who
blew that wind under your wings
in order for you to reach that high.

You call on the swallowers.

There is no need to call a second time
cuz you know they wont be long.
They fully embrace the new you
since you are now part of them,
them is you.

Then you try the spitters.

You call…you call…
try to call again,
but there is no answer.

Why should they answer?
They’ve done what they set out to do
they got you there
they did something good
they are now good people
they are satisfied.
You are left hanging,
a charity case
who filled their hunger
for greatness.

Since you are no longer needed
you are spit to the side
as they go in search of their next project.

oh Soul, I could not resist...i must comment!
Hah. I really enjoyed this piece.
I can relate and agree with this poetic philosophy.. i always have adored your brutal honesty and courage to leek any thought from your mind without resistance or without caring of what others may or may not think. I only wish I had more of that irresistable quality! Yes...i agree...both 2 separate identities, born from the same concept....much like a diverging river...hmmm. Yes...yet which is the better of two evils ;)
i think we all know hahhah.
Love it.
