it calls me in my sleep,
wakes me from the depth of nothingness
pleading to be brought back to active duty, full time.
memories haunt my soul,
i beg god to answer, how can i despise and lust,
the same beast?
i've scarred and tainted everything with my lust.
i took to have, i gave to keep,
no truer truths than a waisted youth,
for this i will always weep.
racing thoughts romanticizing the evil i,
questioning what is and was real
desiring more, just once more
injected fun, youth, peace, freedom...
smoke a better day,
drink a new beginning,
blowing a hole in my head
would have the same effect,
only that doesn't wake me from the dark
