Not bound by heavy chains
Not blocked all over by canes
As a butterfly in the wilderness
Wandering about with a burden less.
A child in his mothers arms no more
Feels he has to reach the earth’s core.
Freedom for him is to let go
Of the hand that prevented him from doing so.
A spirited youth, a Romeo in the making
Trying to impress a maiden in waiting;
Discovers freedom in breaking the rules
Set by the elders who thought him one of the fools.
A man by the maternity ward
Waiting to hear the snap of a chord
Finally gains freedom from the tension
When the cry of the child and wife gains his attention.
The old man, awaiting his death
Knowing his life had been led to the zenith
Awaits his freedom from misery
By taking the path to spirituality.
As the cadaver lies on the ground
The spirit from it rising without a sound;
In the Almighty’s arms when it rests
Is the freedom received at its best.
