Awaken from sleep, what happened to me?
Consumed by addiction from insecurity
Traveled through darkness and internal hell
Never confronted that boy in the shell
Looked to the future, but buried the past
But as long as I did my stability would not last
Spoke to the ones who did their part
Unknowingly to make me hide my heart
Let go of the memories of being trapped and abused
Let out the truth about what I did when I was bruised
One last goodbye and a last ***** you
To the hidden scars, that obscured what I do
Confronted the pain, the very essence of me
And all at once, the clouds did clear, and finally I did see
Darkness is fading, the threat starts to shrink
The zombie like existence I’ve had is a link
To the questions and answers from so long ago
Content with the fact that I finally know
Why it was me, and what was the cost
All of things that I thought were gone were never lost…
