Glass Goodbye

Contributed by Wolf-Isa on Friday, 13th January 2006 @ 11:22:38 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

He's leaving again
For the second time
And once he's gone
I'll have nothing that's mine

After the time has passed
And he returns
I won't be the same
I've had more lessons learned

My glass goodbye is going red
I should have said no
But I fell still
And he's going back to zero

I trusted to much
And hoped much more
That he'd stay this time
And not shut the door

The calendar's pages will strip away
I'll grow hollow and cease to live
And I'll turn to ashes in the cold
I can't hold him captive

My glass goodbye is going red
I should have held on longer
But I stopped reaching
And the air seems thinner

I spent my life trying to get here
But I'll be the only one
Because he is leaving
And I'm forgotten

Chilling, mainly because I have been there, am there. Quote "I trusted too much and hoped much more, that he'd stay this time and not shut the door" - this I go through all the time. Hopefully you learn faster than what I did and do something about this. Don't let it get you too bad that it'll too late. Don't make it a regrewt like me. Good write. Best of luck.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
