Azrael's Confession

He is the doomed, incredible sky stolen by the moonlight; the stars urge him slip away; the night catches his breath in nets above the sea.
We are muscle, tissue, tired clay, claiming the convergences of our own consuming loves.
He is broken thunder broadening the voice of the rain; the river of our hearts whisper his name.
We are bone, and blood, and breath, broaching the womb to smile at death
(our first moment, we remember), and pierce his hands with our cries.
He is the shadow that stills the light. He is the sun that beneath the barren mountain, gleans, and falls his crown upon our heads.
He is the silver water of our love.
We forget our names, and are nothing in his muteness.
We sleep, and await his utterance.
