The Queen Poetess

Contributed by justme03 on Thursday, 12th January 2006 @ 11:10:56 AM in AEST
Topic: poets

Intoxicating her mind with repeated injections
of these heartbroken clichés.
Wrapped up in never-ending days.
Nothing ever went her way,
the sun didn’t pay her heed.
She was left to struggle in the shadows with only
blank pages to feed.

She opens her heart to the paper,
leaving it to consume the ink black capsules.
She scratches the story to the paper,
keeping in time with the many pulses.

The charm of her stories written in rhythmic spells.
Captivating visions and enticing compulsions impel.
It’s been a many days but she’s just chained
to the pages like the silver spiral
of a notebook.
Many a story she has told but the wrath
just keeps flowing as if from a
bubbling brook.

Like a sweet drug she licks the words
off your lips and feeds them to her soul.
Twisted and contorted; not words of console.
These mournful creations may be her downfall
but from her eyes is a never-ending waterfall.

It is just an unbreakable curse
it could never be worse.
Her mascara blackened tears
fall into the blank white demanding pages.

She screams between the light blue lines
which keep her thoughts at ease
but of these she wants to break free.
Under a trance she can never stop.
Under your spell, her fate is to compose
her journey,
her story,
her lies and all
of your lives.
Detailed and Descriptive,
Real and Conclusive,
Written on tear-stained pages for you to plod through.
This is her story. This is her life.
Her agony only comparable to her strife.
Ink splotched phrases and dead end wishes.
Hope illuminates her darkest days.
Each word hangs onto a rope as it frays.

Words etched in stone, the ages progress,
the anecdote is in the Pandora’s Box.
Fearing to understand the intangible
as you undo the locks.
Fearing to comprehend and be stable,
loosening the clamp of her mind,
releasing the agony inside.

1, 2, 3, 4! Opened is her imaginative door.
No longer will she dwell in old stories she
won’t tell but new points of view to share with you.
She is no more a slave of words but a master
with the key to the Pandora’s Box
and how to stop the repeated injections
of anguish and plunge ecstasy into her veins.
She is the Queen Poetess, over words she reigns.

had a beautiful dream last night.. beautiful poem I wrote.. I can see the poem so well, yet the words won't go from my pen to paper.. what do you call that, dream writers block lol.
A painful thing when you have the words to write, but can't seem to write, and yet you just have to write.. This may be helpful to some.. each day, exercise your pen by just writing down whatever comes to your mind, and then walk away from the words for 30 minutes, then go back and re-read, and then underline what means most to you. Keep those underlined words on hand, they are great lines to add to a poem, or poems. When you have your morning exercise write, do not worry what you write, just write.. the more you write, the easier the words will flow. A lot of writers, myself included, may sometimes worry about getting started, thinking we have to have some sort of a beginning line, just write, start where you are.. when we were born, the world was already moving, so just jump write on in there.. this certainly is a lengthy poem, and it takes a lot of talent to pull off a long poem without killing the reader with boredom. congratulations for using it.

I loved this, I really enjoyed when you said
Many a story she has told but the wrath
just keeps flowing as if from a
bubbling brook.
I feel like that a lot! That I just can't stop the evil coming from me.... Beautiful

Amazing, you are a beautiful writer. I loved when you said:

Like a sweet drug she licks the words
off your lips and feeds them to her soul.
Twisted and contorted; not words of console.
These mournful creations may be her downfall
but from her eyes is a never-ending waterfall.

I have felt like that far too many times in life.
Thanks for sharing your talent.
