A room with basic furniture and a small television set Neatly designed, you might at first glance, think that it a room to let This is where Uncle Eddie reminisces about his life, some filled with regret This is probably where silently he wept
His daughter’s outstanding academic success is Uncle Eddie’s pride Yet he feels the love is not returned and so his sadness, he tries to hide “I feel neglected”, he cries “Will they dry the tears in my eyes?” Uncle Eddie sighs
In dire need of love, Uncle Eddie roams the streets Smiling, though it hurts, with anyone that he meets Uncle Eddie keeps his unhappiness bottled up inside Confiding in me and my wife only when the time is right
Though he is retired on a small pension, Uncle Eddie has a big heart A likeable character, his friendship will always be welcomed from strangers right from the start I assure Uncle Eddie, “ You are welcome to have a meal in my home anytime you wish” For I know that this elderly gentleman feels wanted by the warmth in my home and the simple dish
My wife and I sense that Uncle Eddie is “crying in the rain” For we know only too well that unreturned love can cause so much pain Uncle Eddie has found love in God and in him he finds solace And when he leaves this world, he hopes heaven awaits him, for it is Uncle Eddie’s chosen place
Sincerely
Raymond Anthony Fernando
