RALLY ROUND ALL YOU POETS

Contributed by lovingcritters on Wednesday, 11th January 2006 @ 05:34:19 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

Norm (84) this January and his wife Shirley always smiling............

RALLY ROUND ALL YOU POETS

I purposely chose "Be Happy My Friend"
A song that fits Norm from beginning to end!
No muss, not fuss, were Norm's poems
Very little effort by him, all were true gems!

He wasn't all that truthful you understand
Divorcing Shirl, a mistress preplanned.
A true life poet with values galore.
He and Shirley married for 50 years and more!

I can't say Norm was funny, he was hilarious
His real name should have been Mr. Bluntness.
Comments you received were all poetry.
We loved them so much, we all shouted
out with glee!!!

A Limerick, now He could spell one out
Don't try one around him, he'd default--
anyone that didn't do it right!
Always a gentlemen, in sheep's clothing
A poet serious, comical, or about nothing.

He stole my heart from my first posting.
He played the piano, and I left him out
of my poem he said yelling........
From where did this "Dimbat" hail from?
To everyone here he was a healing balm.

So to you Mr. Norm Turkel, listen well.......
We've all missed you, more than words
could ever tell.
Do your excerises and leave the pretty
nurses be..............
Or put them to work and write some
more of your wonderful poetry.....

We all love you Norm, and wanted
you to know, we'll be counting the
days, until they tell us you are well.
Many Joyful days filled with laughter
to you we owe!

Created just for you Norm
With Warm Love and hugs

Norm's poetry was like Ogden Nash's
poetry, the famous poet....
So here's to you Norm from Ogden

"Certainly there are things in life that money can't buy,
but it's very funny .....Did you ever try buying them
without money?"
Ogden Nash (1902 - 1971)

Please go to his site and read
some of his poetry......it will be a
most enjoyable trip, believe me.........

When you comment please
address your comments to Norm
He is nearly blind and can't read
but will send them on to his
dear little wife Shirley.
Thank you everybody
