As I lay tranquil on the ground,
Dark to all around me,
I breathe my last, think of my first,
Life trapped in this body.
I feel each fiber of my being,
Lay in my cooling blood,
My memories come pouring through,
A crashing, mental flood.
I see myself, look from above,
This life I leave behind,
My soul takes on a newer form,
A younger, wiser mind.
I leave the life of certainties,
Of things I think I know,
I hurtle far from what you see,
As into death I go.

great imagery here. it makes you think about death and what really comes after it. it also makes you feel like looking back on your life and asking "have I really lived a good life and how much of what I am is based on other people?" wonderful poem ^^

I enjoyed your poem this point of view of death. Different from my near death experience in my poem "Death".
Good work
