Disillusion

Contributed by Fernanda_F_Rocha on Wednesday, 11th January 2006 @ 06:47:21 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Her face, like stone
Draw a bitter rite in her rigid lips
Her clear eyes, lifeless
Stare the emptiness
Her bent body
Leans on her uncertain walk.

In the silence of the night
The whisper of the wind
Hurts her aching soul
Fading her in a tired tumult.

She follows her footsteps
Wherever they lead her
Like a doomed
In an unconscious grief.

Invades her brain
Flashing memories
Of days of dream, once lived
A longing pain craves her chest
And a tear rolls down her face.

A sunbeam erupts shy
behind the dense fog
hitting her face
Brightening her eyes
A new day being born.

...gosh, how many times have I experienced disillusionment...I think that is the single most significant entity that sealed me so mercilessly in my cage...what worked for others, just didn't work for me...finally, at a real young age, I just shut down...whether my brain chemistry was why it didn't work for me or if all the islolation distorted my brain chemistry, the physiological processes in my brain are out of whack...

...listening on NPR this morning, they were talking about poor people not getting their meds because of the new Bushonian medicare/medicaid prescription melieu...it's kind of scary, but without my meds, I'd be sobbing if not fetal by late afternoon...to think I lived my childhood, adolescent, young adult and middle aged adult years doing hand to hand battle with this chemical monster...

...well, all this to say that I can relate to every word in this poem...the painful thing is that so much disillusionment can make you fearful of sunbeams...I am just now beginning to trust them...but, they wouldn't exist without my meds...

...your's was the first poem of my day...that was nice...
