As the Sun Rises On the New Day

As the sun rises on the new day
Let it gather me up and sweep me away

And in every moment that I lay wake
Let me grasp the time, and pleasure take

For a moment gone is a moment at waste
When the boundless joy I do not take

For time lost I cannot regain
And forever my soul to feel the pain

And in the hour when I forget
My heart shall sink in deep regret

But if this life I shall embrace
I will not be without my grace

To live and love and breathe with care
And my soul with you forever share

I really like poems of this type where each stanza (if i'm right) carrys it's own self-contained ideas which simplifies the understanding of the whole poem.

and one thing I trully believe in is neatly said in this part:

And in the hour when I forget
My heart shall sink in deep regret
