Mid January Walk

Contributed by slayer_015 on Tuesday, 10th January 2006 @ 12:56:11 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The stars are bleak in mid January,
Where the world is sleeping
Under the spell of winter,dreaming
Of the spring and the return the sun.

Whispered breezes,cold but tolerable,
Dance wistfully upon my warm lips
As I sing carefree songs to the air,
Sauntering through the squatty fog,
To the arms of my torrid lover.

The nights are long in mid January,
Though the mountains would not agree
As the light of the early evening moon
Gently embraces the naked boughs of their
Countless trees with the soft silver light of
Her ambient gracefulness.

I am,after the beauty I have seen, standing
At the threshold of my lovers door beholding
A goddess of passionate fire greeting me
With a kiss upon my chilled lips that
Wakens my body to the warmth of a thousand
Suns.My winter journey is finished.I am in the
Sultry arms of my torrid lover.

The stars are bleak in mid January
Where the world is sleeping
Under the spell of winter,dreaming
Of the sun and the return of spring,
Yet in the sensuous chamber of my
Scarlet lover,my soul is scourched
With the eternal fervor of searing love.

I think most of us can understand the feeling of being next to the one we love ... It's uncomparable to any other feelings

Superb imagery, well done

Fantastic! I've been reading through every one of your poems and I'm now totally captive...awaiting the next installation.
