I dropped a rose as they lowered your casket into the ground,
Shots rang out as I turned around.
I froze and I could hardly breathe,
I asked my parents if we could leave.
You were alone in an empty burial plot,
You died so young who would have thought.
I was so angry as they drove by,
Firing off rounds with no reason why.
You were ready to get married and start a family of your own,
I was only 13 and hardly grown.
They took my brother the one I respect,
They pierced my heart something I can never forget.
This is what it was like in a brother’s view,
Alone for one moment as I said goodbye to you.
