My Great Delight
Listen to my heart. Can you heart its trembling voice?
You do that to me every time I think of you
In all my days I’ve never experienced anything like it
Thinking of you I’m overwhelmed with feelings of love and devotion
You’re as no other woman I’ve ever known
Extremely sensual and agonizingly desirable
You indeed take my breath away every time I see you
I have tried to quiet my heart
Muffle its expressions of desire for you
It never works
My heart erupts time and again day in day out at the thought of you Writing volumes of poetry to satisfy this need to touch you with love
Understanding with each poem the need grows even stronger
The need to tell you how wonderful you are in person
Please do not let these words scare you or make you self-conscious
I would never expect you to feel the same about me
It is enough I have been allowed to touch you through poetry
I ask for nothing but a smile on your face and in your eyes
These are my treasure, my true desire
I take great delight in loving you! …
