What If...

Contributed by THEL0STDREAMER on Saturday, 7th January 2006 @ 09:12:46 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

What if you saw my name engraved in a stone,
with dates proving my youthful end?
Would you realize that it's way too late
to even try to comprehend?

What if my tears stopped
and you thought it was all okay?
When inside I was crying out
for someone to hear what I had to say.

You've looked past me so many times,
like I'm always going to be here.
What if the sun didn't rise tomorrow?
And the damage you caused was past repair?

I've cried so many tears
they could make up the stars in the sky.
I've tried to face it.
It's too late to say goodbye.

Your sweet smile, your dark eyes
you don't know what they do to my mind.
I can't play this game
because I don't want to risk knowing what I'll find.

To you I'm the girl with the midnight hair;
the one who'll stand in the rain waiting forever.
What if I finally took that path,
the one you think I can't endeavor?

What if my sun set for the last time,
and my life I truly decided to deny?
Would you care to wonder
about the reasons why?
