How casually you call me to you,
Like a black moth
To a blue flame,
I dance in your dim light
The shadows of your hands flickering
on my bare skin.
I should be in the sun where it’s safe.
I could lie on a daisy
Like a butterfly,
My colorful wings
Spread open, in a mosaic
To the sky.
But instead, I crawl,
Ashen covered in the darkness,
Hypnotized, unashamed,
To feel your heat.
Embers smoldering, I rest warm beside them.
In love, with the radiance that is you.
