you always greet me at the door
like nobody has ever before
tail wagging in great delight
weather i've been wrong or right
you protect our home with fearless pride
when i sometimes yell you let it slide
your bravery is matched by no man
protecting your master the best you can
you lay around without even a care
you warm my feet with your fuzzy hair
all of your stories i have believed
cause you've never lied or decieved
you give loyalty and love asking nothing in return
the love i have for you will forever burn
but that woman should have never entered the yard
all you could do was pull her card
i posted a sign that you'd be there
still she entered without a care
so i put you down a few years ago
for reasons neither of us really know
your memory is with me night and day
you took a piece of my heart when you went away
for you loyalty and friendship was a must
that is why in dog i trust
