Compulsive Liar

Contributed by Fiona on Saturday, 25th January 2003 @ 06:08:06 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Fiona, are you starving yourself again?
No Mom, I don’t care about my weight anymore
Fiona, are those slashes on your wrists?
No Mom, I didn’t do that on purpose
Fiona, were you up all night again?
No Mom, I went to bed early
Fiona, did you skip school today?
No Mom, I’m a good student
Fiona, have you been absuing drugs?
No Mom, I’ve never touched the stuff
Fiona, did you get drunk last night?
No Mom, I promised I wouldn’t do that again
Fiona, have you been having sex with your boy friend?
No Mom, I don’t want to ruin my life at 17
Fiona, did you just throw up your dinner?
No Mom, I was just using the bathroom
Fiona, did you fall asleep in class again?
No Mom, the teacher doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Fiona, have you been telling me the truth?
Yes Mom, I would never lie to you...

I can understand where you are coming from. You don't want your mother to be disappointed in you, if you told her the truth. *S* Cynthia

is there anything that you dont do that you're not supposed to do, i never told my folks anything either, for their own peace of mind, but i had a general rule ' dont do it unless you really enjoy it and it brings you happiness', then again when i was 17 i found angst t be quite interesting, keep writing, love your style of poetry

Fiona, God you kids go through it today. When I was that age the war had just started and within a year I was in the RAF.
But I have two grandaughters aged 12 abd 14 and I worry about them
An excellent poem thanks for telling old Grampa what it's all about.
