The Friend That You Have Outgrown

Contributed by angelchick789456 on Saturday, 31st December 2005 @ 10:02:48 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Here's to the friend that you've outgrown,
The one who's name is left unknown.
The one who wiped away your tears,
And sought to hold your hand,
When others turned the otherway,
No beginning;just an end.

She's the one you turned to,
The one that you called friend.
She laughed with you,she cried with you,
And felt it was her duty,
To remind you of your worth,
And all your inner beauty.

When others' eyes could only dwell,
Upon your exposed outer shell.
They saw a fat girl steeped in braces,
Not seeing you, they turned their faces.
But she was there to whiper,
When others didn't care.

She held your secrets in her heart,
That friends like you could share.
You never had to be alone,
But now she is,cause you've outgrown
Her for the those whose laughs you share,
As you run carefree through the air.

Time has eased your form and face,
But she's the one who knew your grace.
When those you now call your friend
Saw no beginning...only end.

Like this poem a lot , especialy

They saw a fat girl steeed in braces
Not seeing you they turned their faces

Kind of postive that you have come to be able to function without her,but wonder how she would look back on the time

I like this much and can emphasize. It is the drama that happens so often in life.
Somebody invests into another human
being, and after the investment, there is no return for the giver. Rather tragic.

It happens to teachers, educators, loving friends that after having emptied themselves are laid aside and forgotten. Ni mire needed.
It's just "Unthankfulness" a great flaw of character.
Thanks for sharing. It's a very fine poem.
Elizabeth
