Grief

Jaw clenched
From under his hood
She watched his anger rise
While at gunpoint she stood
A dangerous silence
For no one else was there
And if looks alone could kill
He had mastered the fatal stare
So many things she had to say
So many reasons she had to live
All the kind, unspoken words he needed desperately to hear
But no last words would he permit
She thinks back to there Freshman year
They had been close friends
Until he said "I love you"
When she brought it to an end
The threats had since then come and gone
Just like their friendship, once so strong
Now in hopeless desperation
He thinks on what went wrong
The tears are manifest on her face
The afore said words she cannot replace
She pleads with him through desperate eyes
With tear-choked words, he bids her goodbye
He pulls the trigger and there
She dies
