the call that never came

She sits there all alone
waiting by the phone
the phone never rings
but she sits there and waits
that's all she'll ever do
still the call doesn't go through
the tears roll down her face
but all day she waits
she sits there everyday now
her face is only a blank
she stares at the wall
for the phone she can not bare
that one call never came
but it consumed her life
and it took up all her time
it made her die inside
she finally decides to get up
and forget about the phone
she takes control and leaves
she locks the door and removes the key
... and the phone rings
