Sweet Sleep
The gentle smell of sweetness
Fills my soul & cures my weakness
With every breath I breathe
The softness of her skin
With her nose against my chin
And her body wrapped around me
And I can’t believe she found me
And I’m home again
Home sweet- home sweet – home sweet – home sweet home again
To feel her heart a’poundin’
Steady rhythms safe and sound and
I have peace again
….
And it’s always a surprise
Each time I open up my eyes
To find this angel
As she lies so close beside me
Lives so deep inside…..me
…
Then to close my eyes again
So quick for fear this dream might end
And I’ll be back to where I’ve been
So long so lonely
But When It’s really time to wake
And she’s still there, my heart don’t ache
And I believe that I can make
It through the day a’smiling
Let me tell you it’s a sight
To watch her sleep in mornin’s light
I must go back and hold her tight
She takes my breath away
….
And it’s always a surprise
Each time I open up my eyes
To find this angel
