against a small hope

Topic: LovePoetry

against a small hope, time remains.
i remember the moment of my beginning.
my beginning moments ago speaking, screaming, stuttering stupid;
moments ago her hands opened, and i found myself there, watching delicate supreme delight, brushing the vast eclipse of her fingers.

i have remembered many lives.
lives that i could live, desire, destroy, demand, design with simple pleasure.
lives that swirl and spin, intertwine slip, and fall away.
there is never enough time.

i am not afraid to continue.
a bold black night surrounds me.
i am afraid of the things i cannot see.
i am afraid of myself.

offering the smallest laughter,
i laugh deny her touch, offer simple contained love.
she offers quilt and couch, safe haven warmth.
away from the cold, cold shadow.
I offer smile silence gift smaller than before.
I deny gold food eyes upon my eyes
she offers night to sleep away the sun.
I laugh and do not speak.

she reminds me time is time again
we do not change.
she reminds me i am still and laughing
older than before.

i am shadow silent slipping into space and sky
i am quiet over glass and bone
she offers her hand
i question and place against her hand
she trembles laughs and walks away
i leave be sit and stare across the t.v.

she loves, and I am reminded of things that I have lost,
and I am afraid of what I cannot see:
the time in me and love in me,
that against a small hope, remains.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
