Alone

Hide inside these walls, shut out the pain
Hear the screams inside my head, the memories remain
And in my dream, the nightmare churns
Cannot breathe, my stomach turns
alone....

I'm the sole survivor, in a world that has gone mad
My soul aged beyond my years
Alone I bleed a stream of tears
Never met a smile
forever sad
The rage that breeds inside my head
Destroying all the things they've said
Alone inside, this maniac
Screams out in pain, and then attacks

Not knowing the outcome, of this neverending game
Seeks revenge and retribution
from the ones who made him shame
Breaking all the chains inside
No more fear, no more lost pride
Attacking with the inner strength that god has gave to me
Scream aloud.....the darkness calls
This time I'll win....
I will not fall

Do you think you can succeed, don't you know that you'll fail?
I'll be there when you lose..
Laugh as I drive in the nail
Into your coffin, you'll never see the sky again
You fight yourself, insecure, into the lions den

The failure screams inside my head
The more I grieve, the more I'm dead
I wont rest, until I find
no trace of you, inside my mind
I will find a way, to make this all end
with or without you, if death's my only friend

Voices whisper from beyond
The future in a timeline
like skipping stones across a pond
Look deep into the mirror, for what you might see
The rooted wounds of insecurities
The only way to remove them, is to destroy what's the past
But the problem is, the past is you....
and you will never last

I will find a way, to make this all end
To avenge my innocence, to make destruction my friend
Using power from inside
I will regain, my strength and pride
Destroy the ones, who cast their stone
and exiled me to forever be
....alone

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
