That time of year has come once again
Families are gathering and they all know your name
We're e getting presents we want but do not need
We're all spending our allowances to give us all a treat
Now someone in the family has given up their time
Lots of hours for the perfect meal but they say it’s easy but that would be a lie
Teenagers forget their manners
Can’t be bothered to buy them flowers
We see our brothers, sisters, aunties, and uncles once again
But before couldn’t we just see them by taking the train?
Long lost relatives are only a phone call away
What your conscience is telling you try and obey
If you had it unlucky at least you are alive to read my poem
Was is right that Jesus died on the cross when he could have been innocently sewing?
Life will give you another twist and turn
But with God's help there will be no need for concern
