It takes strength and a powerful mind to be what I am
It takes a heart of gold and the power of understanding to be who I am
It takes unconditional love and forgiveness to be me
It takes the power to smile on the outside knowing you are crying on the inside
To talk so calmly when you really want to scream
To know that you are unappreciated and still give your all
To say yes when you know the answer is no
To hide all your feelings inside just to make someone else feel good
To say there is light when all you can really see is darkness
To be unappreciated and still give your all
What does it takes to be who I am, to be what I am, to be me
