the sun use to smile at me
sun beams beating down
but as the rain poured from the skies
and the clouds swelled
the little sun shine was forgotton
and the city of smiles was lost
now all that is remembered
is a distant bird song
to keep sane i hum it
but it's slipping away
mr. blue bird come back
to keep the hope in my heart
and the memory in our heads
put as we lose grasp
we slowly fall apart
the rain clouds dismal and lump
swell across the skies
for as far as i can see
the smell of failure in the air
i slump back to the city of forgetness
and listen to the rain against my window
as i hum the last bird song
and the sunhine is lost forever..
