Twisted Branches Never Heal

Spider web
The arachnid fed.
Twas a fly by and by.
Twisted branches
of a tree;
crossed paths of you and me.
Buried deep beneath.
Drowning underneath.
Quiet silence
Desperation
Softly dying
Perspiration
Beat me, Slap me
Rip me up and wrap me
in a shroud
after I’ve drowned.
Doesn’t matter, it’s ok
to be gone like yesterday.
Strewn sticks on the forest floor
like the love I had once before
Now the mirror is cracked
Broken is our secret pact
She doesn’t love you anymore
She has walked out and slammed
the door
Like a broken record, my mistakes
keep repeating
Getting stuck in the same situations
I undoubtedly have a date with
a beating.
The voice in my head constantly speaking
Tortured screams
Segregation
Fallen angels
Separation
Hear me call you
Kill me kill you
Labels of defiance
Rebels of the age
Locked up inside
a cage
Pent up rage
Twisted branches never heal
Too close to you is how I feel
All this pain is just too real
But, despair doesn’t fly all that high
and tonight love is nearby
Cannot breathe
Cannot see
Stuck in this obstinate oblivion
We are barely livin’
But, you are my sweet inspiration,
my inner motivation
to keep on fightin’,
to keep on writin’
and even if these twisted branches
never heal
I will still have a testament that
this love was and is real.

Where in your mind is this source of ideas that you so readily keep drawing upon? I'd like to tap into it myself for a little inspiration. Excellent stuff I must say!
And I do !
So I will !
So there ! |
