Wouldn’t it be nice to restart your life
To go back to the start and change what it is you’ve become
But to change your past, would it mean that you would no longer be who you are
Events that happen of course, have an effect on the way you think, react, give, retract
Happy with my mental state of mind
Not so happy with people unkind
Over the course of recent years
I’ve learned to listen to my peers
As you can only learn from what you hear
Opinions of others give nothing to fear
Open minded now, able to understand just how
Thinking for the future I do no more
As learned through time everything changes
But nothing really changes it just advances stages
Learn to be happy with the hand you’ve been dealt
Ready to embrace everything that you’ll see
For individuality is true, you are so unlike me
So my brother if you hurt I hurt also
If you cry, for as will I
But maintaining happiness
Well, that’s another roll of the die.

You can't always be happy with the hand you've been dealt. Some people, so undeserving, were given the worst lives - lives full of pain, regret, and self-loathing. Not because there's something wrong with them, but because of their surroundings. It's truly an unfair sight when you find people like this, so kind and caring, but their family treats them like trash and life gives them nothing in return for their compassion.
Sorry if it's critical of your work, but I've just repeatedly seen this situation; and once is too much. |
