what is it good for

Contributed by lostrelic on Tuesday, 20th December 2005 @ 04:43:01 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

storytellers politicians and liers all from the same strand
we use words like power to show others where we stand

we minipulate the truth and bend it to our whim
we control small flocks this is how we win

harvest of flesh so much nowadays
a nation of violence is what we display
freedom a word we throw like a swear
no one knows truth no one really cares

we lose our control this wild beast in this maze
blinded by our anger its wall made of haze

sects and cults like brothers in arms
they know there power is stronger then the law
they write the rules we follow there ways
we know there are the ones who tell us what to say

were blinded by glory and the colours of the states
we see the war and we know our fate
but we wave our flag strong but knowing whats right
we understand this is really not our fight

but as much as we say and as much as we do
this isnt our voice this isnt our rule

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
